PERICLES

It was a privilege to welcome the global powerhouse Godolphin into the stable midway through 2025. With that opportunity came plenty of responsibility, so to enjoy immediate success with a proven Group performer like Pericles was incredibly rewarding.

The partnership made an instant impact when Pericles produced a dominant display to win the Group 2 Tramway Stakes at his first start for the stable. A model of consistency throughout the spring, he went on to finish third in the Group 1 Epsom Handicap behind Autumn Glow, fourth in the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes and was beaten the barest margin when runner-up in the Group 1 Champions Mile.

His remarkable campaign continued into the autumn when he returned first-up to capture the Group 1 Futurity Stakes at Caulfield, defeating a star-studded field. Training a Group 1 winner is always special, but to achieve it with a horse carrying the Godolphin blue for one of the world’s most powerful racing operations made the moment particularly meaningful for the entire team.

Now with his first Group 1 victory secured, Pericles - the son of Street Boss - looks set to target further top-level success in Sydney this autumn.
