WHY WOULD YOU RACE THIS HORSE?
It’s not everyday that a stakes performed two-year-old by Zoustar comes on the market so when this gorgeous filly stepped out on my doorstep at the Inglis’ Ready2Race Sale I just had to have her.
Rachini was an eye catcher at the breeze ups with her exceptional pedigree also looking very appealing. But when she debuted yesterday as the favourite in the Listed Debutant Stakes and held her own nicely, my confidence shot to another level.
A horse must have a great constitution to get to the races this early in their career, especially a Zoustar filly as they tend to get better with age. Yet, she has already performed well as an early 2YO and looks to have the scope to develop into a powerful late 2YO in the future. She will head to the paddock for a well-deserved break, and I can’t wait to target some nice races with her early in the new year. The dream is very much still alive with her being nominated and paid up for both the Group 1 Golden Slipper and Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes in the Autumn!
Her sire, Zoustar, throws particularly attractive fillies and there is no questioning who Rachini’s sire is as she has his trademark beautiful head and powerful hind quarter. She has plenty of leg and scope, is an exceptional mover both at the walk and in her gallop, as shown in her breeze, and retains the residual value as a future breeding prospect.
Her dam, Ordos Honor, was a metropolitan placed 2YO herself and is by the elite damsire Fastnet Rock. This filly is bred on the potent Fastnet Rock/Zoustar cross which has produced star Group 1 winning fillies Zougotcha, Joliestar and Climbing Star.
